Working to improve diversity and inclusion is a big job. There is always more to do that we can get done. We need to think strategically about what to prioritise, and critically about which approaches work in the reality of our organisations. We don’t have the positional power to mandate change, so we need to manage stakeholders, influence people and groups, create and land new policies and practices. Effective inclusion is so much more than celebrating difference.

To support every employer to become an inclusive one, we’ve created the EDI Practitioner Pathway. It’s a collection of critical and strategic EDI courses, brought together with core business skills to elevate the practice of EDI professionals.

What’s included?

The pathway includes six units. On completion learners will gain

Over two years (you can do it quicker if you prefer) learners will join six units totalling 13 days of learning, and complete four assignments.

Level 6 course in Leading Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

Supports EDI Practitioners and People Professionals to enhance their practice by applying critical thinking to core EDI approaches.

Level 6 course in Organisational Culture & Change Management

Explores organisational culture through the lens of creating more inclusive workplaces. Discusses approaches to managing effective change at both people and organisational levels.

Level 6 course in Policy Design for Inclusion

Equips participants with the skills and understanding to create and land modern, inclusive policies which support the organisation’s inclusion strategy.

Accredited course in Managing Stakeholder Relationships for Inclusion

Explores managing relationships through a stakeholder lens, providing approaches to understand, plan, and leverage stakeholders to progress the inclusion agenda.

Accredited course in Influencing Skills for Inclusion

Explores EDI conversations through an influencing skills lens, equipping learners with the tools to develop effective approaches to gaining support for the inclusion agenda.

Level 7 course in Strategic Approaches to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

Explores impactful EDI through strategic, structural and human behaviour lenses, for those who want to create and embed an effective EDI strategy.

Through Inclusive Employers, participants will also have access to assignment writing days, a reflective practice workshop and a series of one-hour webinars spanning a broad range of inclusion topics. In addition, whilst studying participants will have associate membership of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) – which includes access to a wide range of resources and learning opportunities led by the CMI.

Enrolment in the pathway includes complementary access to 50+ live webinars.

How much does the EDI Practitioner Pathway cost?

The pathway costs £3950 (+VAT). That’s a huge saving as taking these units individually will cost around £8,000 (+VAT).

At Inclusive Employers, it’s our mission is to make inclusion an everyday reality. Offering the pathway at this great price is one way we support organisations and EDI Professionals to make that happen.

If you sign up before April 2024, you’ll receive another £500 early bird discount.

As with all our professional development courses at Inclusive Employers, those from member organisations get an extra 10% discount.

How does the EDI Practitioner Pathway work?

Once you’ve booked your space, you choose the dates which work best for you. Each unit runs between four and six times each year. There isn’t a ‘right way’ to do the pathway. We do recommend you do at least two of the assessed units in the first six months and have completed the training days for all the assessed units by the 15-month point. This gives you the ability to space out the assignment writing, and get everything completed and assessed within the two years.

How are the training days delivered?

All the training days are available virtually. There may also be face to face opportunities for some courses.

I’ve already started/completed one of those courses with Inclusive Employers, can I still join the pathway?

Yes. If you’ve started the Level 6 Course in Leading EDI or the Level 7 Course in Strategic Approaches to EDI (or both) you can upgrade your booking to the EDI Practitioner Pathway. Chat to us for an upgrade price.
