Level 5 Award in Managing EDI. It’s for people who manage and lead teams. It’s appropriate for all levels of management, focusing on the benefits and practice of inclusive leadership.

Level 6 Certificate in Leading EDI. It’s for people who deliver or influence their organisation’s EDI Strategy. It’s appropriate for EDI Practitioners, HR & People Professionals. It focuses on critical thinking and how to land successful EDI plans in different types of organisations.

Why were the courses created?

At Inclusive Employers, we’ve seen many colleagues and clients naturally progress into inclusion and diversity roles through HR, recruitment and L&D, but just as often people tend to do inclusion and diversity, “off the side of their desk.”

No matter the career path, we’ve always heard the same questions: How do I progress my career in inclusion and diversity? What sort of qualifications do I need? How can I prove I can do what I do?

This is why we worked together with CMI to create effective inclusion and diversity qualification courses for every level. Since they launched in 2017 our courses have continually been refreshed and renewed.

The benefits of our CMI courses

What are the advantages of completing an Inclusive Employers’ qualification?

1.   Inclusive Employers are experts in the inclusion and diversity industry

You will already know this if you are a member, but we at Inclusive Employers are experts on inclusion and diversity.

We can provide you with the best inclusion and diversity certification possible due to our expert knowledge, delivery skills, and insight.

“There’s a big difference between the experience of being in a training session delivered by a trainer and these [CMI qualification] sessions. The people leading them are experts. They have got real-life experiences to share. So, when you’re asking questions, it’s not hard for them to answer because they’ve lived and breathed it. So yeah, that is very, very different experience.”

2.   You’ll have a huge amount of support

Our team will assist you regardless of the level of course you choose. The guidance you receive will improve your study and learning experience, and you will never be afraid to ask questions.

“The student support team have been brilliant in helping me feel confident to submit my assignment to the CMI. Getting feedback on a draft and having the opportunity to explore that further has meant that someone who left school with nothing could gain a level 6 qualification. Thank you for all the help.”

3.   It gives you the chance to network and learn from others

All our CMI courses provide excellent opportunities for networking and meeting new people in the inclusion and diversity industry. When it comes to inclusion, it’s always beneficial to speak with others who share your values.

Recent students told us…
“My favourite part was considering wider perspectives and contrasting views.”
“The group discussions were great, learning from others’ experiences.”
“One of the benefits of taking part is cross-industry learning. Somehow Inclusive Employers manage to bring people from different sectors together and create a space for sharing best practices and learning from the facilitator.”

4. Our courses involve practical learning that can be applied right away

Our courses were developed with expert knowledge and are taught by industry leaders in inclusion and diversity who give practical knowledge to take away and implement within your organisation.

The amount of knowledge you’ll take away with you, as well as new ways of thinking and a new perspective, will be a huge benefit. Level 6 units now include Leading EDI, Organisational Culture and Coaching Skills too.

“I loved the course content of the Level 6 Certificate in Leading EDI and Organisational Culture. It’s been incredibly helpful in my work, not least because I can speak confidently from an informed point of view. In particular, I use my coaching skills every day. I was already a qualified coach and my approach to work since I qualified has changed completely. Coaching skills can significantly improve the way you receive information about EDI matters, help you to manage your reactions to different or difficult conversations or situations, and, crucially, help with the reflection you need in a role which moves at pace.”
