CMI Level 4 Award in Promoting Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
The Level 4 Award is aimed at those who are passionate about Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) such as inclusion champions and staff network leads. It is also appropriate for those who are just starting their career in an EDI role.
What content does the Level 4 course include?
This qualification includes:
- The business case and legal framework for EDI
- Exploring the organisational culture and understanding how bias impacts EDI
- The role of inclusion champions and leveraging the power of staff networks
- Understanding the value of data-driven approaches
How long does the course last?
There are two days of live training, which are delivered virtually. These are typically delivered together, mid-week.
Delegates are expected to supplement the live training with self-directed study. It can take 40 – 60 hours to complete the qualification over one year.
How is the qualification assessed?
Assessment is in the form of written assignments totalling 3000 words. This is split into five short tasks, which are covered in the live training.
Our excellent in-house team provide student support and feedback on drafts prior to final submission to the CMI.

The cost of the Level 4 course
In-house cohorts are an excellent approach for those with a group of delegates. One cohort can host up to 12 delegates, at a cost of £10,500 +VAT, saving 20%.
