Arup, Canal and River Trust, East Midlands Rail and more gain the Inclusive Employers Standard

Today organisations that have participated in the latest round of the Inclusive Employers Standard (IES) are receiving their results.

We are delighted to recognise the achievements of all participating organisations and the accreditation shows their commitment towards creating an inclusive workplace.

Arup, Sanofi, Canal and River Trust, East Midlands Rail, Warwickshire County Council, and National Grid are just some of the organisations who are receiving their accreditation.

Accredited organisations are awarded Bronze, Silver or Gold accreditation status. All three of these accreditation levels reflect the successful organisations commitment to embedding workplace inclusion and diversity.

Rupert Moyne, MD – Corporate Services at Inclusive Employers, says:

“Huge congratulations to all the amazing organisations who took part in the latest round of the Inclusive Employers Standard. We have seen some great results including some first-time submissions from organisations doing some really great work and excellent examples of good practice.”

The results have highlighted that organisations are moving on from the impact of the last few years and it’s great to see that participants have been re-engaging with programmes that had to be put on hold during the pandemic. Organisations are maturing in their approach to inclusion and diversity, recognising the need for strong data to provide an evidence base and rationale behind their activity.

It is also great to see this year’s National Inclusion Week theme ‘Time to Act: the Power of Now’ being reflected in the submissions with organisations moving beyond being reactive to a more proactive approach.

On top of this, there is evidence of wider organisation engagement and involvement in I&D across submissions, with recognition that responsibility for inclusive culture goes beyond HR and those in specific I&D roles.”

Rupert Moyne goes on to say:

For me, one of the great things about the Inclusive Employers Standard is that it works for organisations who are taking their first steps to those who are leading the field in workplace inclusion. This round we saw some fantastic first-time submissions as well as tangible progress with recommendations we had given to previous participants.

The aim of the assessment is to provide not only an objective assessment of how an organisation measures up against the Inclusive Employers Standard, but also to give insight into where to focus next to make the most impact. Through our assessment report and subsequent discussion with participants, we help them identify their priorities, unlock opportunities and accelerate progress.”

The current round of the IES is now open for organisations to begin their applications.

What is the Inclusive Employers Standard?

The Inclusive Employers Standard is an inclusion and diversity accreditation that supports organisations to find out how effective their inclusion work is and provides detailed feedback to enable them to develop and progress their I&D strategy.

It is an evidence-based, objective, accreditation tool for assessing and promoting inclusion in the workplace developed and run by Inclusive Employers. The process is via online submission of narrative and evidence against 35 questions arranged over Inclusive Employers’ six pillars of inclusion, Engage, Equip, Empower, Embed, Evaluate and Evolve.
