Inclusive Employers CMI Level 5 Award in Managing Equality, Diversity & Inclusion: Emergency Services
The Emergency Services Level 5 Award is aimed at those managing and leading teams, and those that hold a critical role in making behaviour change happen. The course focuses on the skills required to lead inclusively, to set an example and to deal with exclusionary behaviours in teams constructively and positively.
What content does the Level 5 course include?
The qualification includes:
- The compelling case and legal framework for Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) across emergency services
- Exploring leadership styles, language, and behaviours to lead inclusively
- Understanding the role and responsibilities of a manager in leading by example
- Approaches to promoting EDI to staff and stakeholders
- Developing and implementing EDI plans, and measuring success
How long does the course last?
There are two days of live training, which are delivered virtually. These are typically delivered together, mid-week.
Delegates are expected to supplement the live training with self-directed study. It can take 40 – 60 hours to complete the qualification over one year.
How is the qualification assessed?
Assessment is in the form of written* assignments totalling 3,500 words. This is split into smaller tasks, which are covered in the live training.
