Bronze, Silver and Gold accreditation success

Inclusive Employers are delighted to announce the results from the first round of the Inclusive Employers Standard 2023!

Congratulations to all 17 organisations who have received their accreditation this year including Education Endowment Foundation, EVRI, Leicester City Football Club, Shelter, Electricity North West, Premier Companies, Serco and Leeds Building Society.

This year we’ve seen organisations in the private sector achieve Gold standard for the first time – Congratulations Serco and Leeds Building Society!

There are three Inclusive Employers Standard (IES) accreditation levels – Gold, Silver and Bronze and a Committed status for organisations who do not reach accreditation, but deserve recognition of their commitment to becoming an inclusive employer.

Bronze, Silver and Gold accreditation are all reflective of organisations who are successfully working to embed workplace inclusion and diversity. We have been particularly pleased that 14 of the Inclusive Employers Standard 2023 accreditations have gone to members of Inclusive Employers. We know how committed our members are to inclusion and it’s brilliant to see them taking this step towards inclusion accreditation.

“Congratulations to all… We are continuously blown away by the I&D work that is demonstrated through the IES submissions, even from organisations who are still very early in their journey, the commitment to making inclusive workplaces for all of their people is brilliant to witness.”

– Addison Barnett (he/him) Director of Impact and Major Programmes, Inclusive Employers

Who is the Inclusive Employers Standard for?

Everyone – the accreditation framework has been designed by Inclusive Employers to help all organisations – whether you are taking your first steps in workplace inclusion or leading the field in it.

It is an externally validated assessment of inclusion and diversity that gives you a comprehensive action plan for making inclusion an everyday reality for everyone in your organisation.

The accreditation measures inclusion over Inclusive Employers’ six pillars of inclusion – Engage, Equip, Empower, Embed, Evaluate and Evolve. The pillars give the accreditation the framework to measure inclusion success.

In this round we saw some fantastic first-time submissions as well as tangible progress with recommendations we had given to previous participants, particularly those that started by completing our Foundation Assessment and have now achieved accreditation. Inclusive Employers’ member, Anchor, is a fantastic example of this, having gone from Foundation assessment to Gold standard in four years!

Accredited organisations share their delight

Leeds Building Society took part in the IES for the first time this year and achieved Gold accreditation:

“We’re delighted to have achieved gold accreditation by  Inclusive Employers.

Their Standard assesses activity over a 12-month period and the outcome highlights the steps we’ve taken to embed an inclusive culture at the Society.”

The Education Endowment Foundation, also taking part for the first time, achieved Bronze standard and are delighted at the impact the accreditation process will have on their ongoing inclusion and diversity work:

“We’re a charity committed to reducing inequality in education. It’s really important to us that we reflect the values that we work for within our own organisation.

The Inclusive Employers Standard has given us a clear framework for our diversity and inclusion strategy. It’s evidence-based and rigorous so we’re delighted that we’re now an accredited employer.”

Chief Executive, Professor Becky Francis CBE, FBA, FAcSS from Education Endowment Foundation
