Nozomi Tolworthy - Inclusive Employers

Nozomi is an Inclusion and Diversity Consultant at Inclusive Employers, working with members and clients to provide them with expert consultancy, training solutions and supporting them with their organisation’s inclusion strategies. Nozomi is from Hong Kong and initially moved to the UK for her university studies, where she graduated with first-class honours. She has worked for several years in as a diversity and inclusion advisor within the university sector as well as having worked in creative roles within children’s television production.

What do you enjoy about your role at Inclusive Employers?

I enjoy the variety of work I get to do under the umbrella of all things inclusion and diversity. It’s refreshing that every day of my week can look a bit different – from writing scripts for our drama-based training sessions and training content creation, to speaking with my members in our catch-ups and supporting them in their everyday inclusion work.

What has been your biggest achievement to date?

One of my first big inclusion achievements was successfully introducing a ‘free periods’ campaign – to provide free menstrual supplies to all students, at my student union at university.

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

Protect your time and look after yourself.

This was some advice I was given from a fellow consultant when I first started my role here at Inclusive Employers. It can be easy to get swept up in the work we do – we’re all here because we want to help organisations help their people. But oftentimes, we can forget about looking after ourselves during this time.

So, I try my best to remember to look after myself and make sure I have the time for that!

Tell us something about you that we might not know

In my free time, I continue creative endeavours such as writing, filmmaking and crafts, as this is what I find joy in.
