Lorena is a Human Rights specialist, who joined Inclusive Employers in March 2024 as an Inclusion and Diversity Consultant. As part of the Global Team, she is the main point of contact with clients from different industries that are looking to embed workplace inclusion in their organisations.

Holding a master’s degree in Human Rights from the London School of Economics and with an enthusiastic commitment to Diversity & Inclusion, Lorena excels in fostering organisational cultural change to boost performance.

Her experience includes impactful roles with UK NGOs, where she focused on advancing the rights of Latin American women, and within the Mexican Civil Service. Most recently, she developed a comprehensive D&I framework for the Mexican Congress, comprising the Equity and Non-Discrimination Policy, the Annual Training Programme for 7,000 employees and the National Gender Equality Network.

Lorena is driven by her passion to create safe work environments that empower individuals to flourish in pursuit of collective organisational goals.

What do you enjoy about your role at Inclusive Employers?

The diversity around Inclusive Employers is great! Members from a wide array of industries, colleagues from various backgrounds and all the different tasks that are associated with my role.

What has been your biggest achievement to date?

Setting up and delivering the Misconduct Reporting Mechanism for the Mexican Congress allowed me to make a direct impact to those suffering from bullying, sexual harassment and discrimination.

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

85 percent of the things you worry about will never happen and the other 15 percent, you will never see it coming… So, stop worrying!

Tell us something about you that we might not know

I am a recent yoga enthusiast. I found yoga to be the perfect mix of meditation and physical training but I am still struggling to understand all the terminology, especially the names of all the poses! I mean, what is Paschimottanasana?!
