John joined us in October 2022 as the new Chair of Inclusive Employers. In this role he will oversee the strategic direction of our company and provide guidance and support to the board and the wider team, as we continue to grow into one of the world’s leading inclusion and diversity experts, helping employers across all sectors build inclusive workplaces around the globe.

He is a twenty-five year board veteran having worked with founders and investors as a CEO, NED & Chairman, predominantly in healthcare. In more recent years he has become increasingly involved in mission led companies that have a demonstrable and positive impact upon society.

What do you enjoy about your role at Inclusive Employers?

Working with world-class experts in any field is thrilling, but it’s even more so when those same experts are helping to make the world around us a better place for everyone. I’m humbled and thrilled to be part of such an amazing group of people with such a compelling mission. It’s one that I believe in completely not only professionally but personally too.

What has been your biggest achievement to date?

Several of the companies I’ve run in the last twenty years have been in health and social care, so by extension I’ve been responsible for helping to deliver front line services to what must be over a million people by now. 

My last big sporting achievement was managing to complete the London-Paris 24 Hour Bike Ride a few years ago. A number of riders were unable to finish because unfortunately they crashed having fallen asleep whilst still on their bikes! It could so easily have been me…

What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?

Don’t listen to others when they try to put you down. Trust yourself.
