Senior Inclusive Employers Standard Programme Lead
Emily joined the Inclusive Employers team in August 2022 as a Senior Inclusion and Diversity Consultant, where they are providing innovative solutions and support for a wide portfolio of members.
Emily has many years experience working in diversity and inclusion across many sectors. Prior to joining Inclusive Employers Emily attained their PhD in psychology in 2018 and has driven inclusion forward through research into health and societal inequalities.
Their experience also comes from delivering diversity and inclusion solutions and training across public and private sectors. As well as working in a psychological supportive role for a diverse range of people such as LGBTQ+ young people, armed forces veterans and people experiencing long term unemployment.
I am lucky enough to be involved in so many different projects as part of my role, but the Inclusive Employers Standard is probably my absolute favourite. I am a big fan of data, so being able to assess and support organisations to grow and develop is amazing.
My biggest achievement since joining Inclusive Employers was probably the launch of the Bitesize Inclusion Toolkit for Team Learning. Seeing a project I thought about in my head during a bout of insomnia actually launched as a real product was amazing. It was an amazing opportunity to develop my own idea and now I get to see it making a positive impact on loads of different organisations.
Don’t be afraid to fail because there is always something you can learn
In my teens I competed nationally in 10 metre highboard diving events.
