Mental Health Aware: Why You Need it

We all have mental health, as well as physical health. At Inclusive Employers we know that mental health awareness is vital to break down barriers and enable understanding of the different challenges that we can all face and is an important part of making inclusion an everyday reality in your organisation.

Inclusive Employer’s are member’s of MHFA England and we are committed to improving mental health, starting in the workplace. As MHFA England Accredited Instructor Member’s, we are able to offer expert guidance and training to support mental health, in the workplace and beyond. We want to create environments where people feel valued and included to talk freely about their mental health, and confident to seek support when it’s needed.

Equipping your organisation to be Mental Health Aware is part of creating a healthy workplace and investing in this training offers significant return on investment. According to the Centre for Mental Health, 2017, mental ill health costs UK employers £34.9 billion annually, equating to £1.3k per employee. This can also be broken down as:

  • £10.6 billion sickness absence;
  • £21.2 billion in reduced productivity;
  • £3.1 billion in replacing staff who leave for mental health-related reasons.
