2018 National Inclusion Standard

2018 National Inclusion Standard

A small group of Inclusive Employers member organisations agreed to participate in a pilot of the National Inclusion Standard early in 2018. They are our pioneers. We purposely chose organisations from a wide range of sectors, of different sizes and based in different locations across the UK.

We worked closely with these organisations throughout this period gathering their feedback on the usability of the National Inclusion Standard and the value of the results and feedback provided.

Alongside this we convened a panel of independent experts to help us verify and moderate the scoring of the submissions to ensure that the process was fair, transparent and credible.

We invited our pilot organisations and expert panel members to our National Inclusion Week event at the BFI on 27 September 2018: Making inclusion an everyday reality to thank them for their contributions and recognise their achievements.

The pioneers:

  • Arriva Rail London
  • British Film Institute
  • Calderdale Council
  • Cooperative Bank
  • Hampshire County Council
  • Hampshire Police
  • House of Lords
  • North Somerset Community Partnership
  • Sony Pictures Entertainment

Our expert panel:

  • The form was comprehensive and concise. It wasn't too overwhelming to complete. The guidance was clear and we felt like there was support from Inclusive Employers, should we have needed it

  • This has focused our attention on key areas for development, and enabled us to seek sources of evidence from across directorates by asking the questions included in the Standard
