The opportunity to flex my creative muscles. A key part of inclusion work is awareness raising and getting the right people to see or talk about important topics. Part of the fun of this work is thinking: “how can I write this social media post to get more people talking or thinking about X?” or “how can we get more people involved in X campaign?”
I’m also pleasantly by surprised by how positive actions and positive news stories gain traction in the inclusion and diversity sector, it is a good reminder that there are lots of people championing equality.
Being invited to talk about National Inclusion Week on Sky News and making a guest appearance on the Talking Inclusion With podcast to discuss my personal experience of looking for employment and thriving in the workplace as an autistic person. Disabled people don’t often get a chance to share their stories or perspectives, so I was happy to seize these opportunities to wave the banner for my people!

I’m a little bit of a tech nerd. Before the pandemic I would go to a meetup called “Accessibility London” where the hosts would invite different speakers to discuss accessibility and how to make digital products and services better for disabled people.
