Rupert is one of the founders of Inclusive Employers. He leads on financial management, compliance, corporate strategy, marketing and communications and company secretarial duties. In addition, he oversees our Inclusive Employers Standard accreditation scheme.

Before setting up Inclusive Employers, Rupert was a senior leader in the Housing Association sector and his interest lie in developing successful socially focused, yet commercial businesses.

In the past he has also held non-executive roles with charities, supporting their work including a palliative care charity operating in Africa and a community music project for young people in South London.

What do you enjoy about your role at Inclusive Employers?

Working with an amazing team of people who have a broad range of skills and interests – makes for some really great conversations!

What has been your biggest achievement to date?

I have been with Inclusive Employers since we set up in 2011 so there has been so much. Going from zero to being commissioned to work with over 300 members in 2021.  

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

Never wear brown shoes in town! Given to me by a HRD many years ago who told me she never appointed anyone who wore brown shoes to an interview! Things have moved on a bit.
