Lindsay has 12 years’ experience of working in the private sector. For 10 years she worked for a global insurance company in various roles and most recently as a Training Co-Ordinator and Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing Consultant. In the two years before joining Inclusive Employers she worked at a global law firm delivering on the firm-wide Responsible Business programmes including Inclusion and Diversity.

Lindsay was co-chair of Zurich Insurance LGBT+ Network and co-founded Link Up North, the LGBT+ Insurance Network.

Now working for Inclusive Employers Lindsay is the Programme Manager for the Inclusive Employers Standard, helping organisations to measure, monitor and continuously improve their progress towards becoming a more inclusive employer and deliver of their inclusion and diversity strategy.

What do you enjoy about your role at Inclusive Employers?

Internally I enjoy working with a diverse group of people who all care and understand the importance of inclusion. Externally I enjoy knowing I am making a difference. The current world we live in can be a horrible place, especially for those from under-represented groups – knowing that your day job is to help make things better for those people at least whilst at work can go towards counteracting some of the bad things in the world.

What has been your biggest achievement to date?

Getting to work in I&D everyday!

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

If it won’t matter in a year is it worth the argument/fall out now.

Tell us something about you that we might not know.

My lifelong dream is to own my own VW campervan, preferably one I can work on as a project.
