Assistant Financial Accountant

Gemma joined Inclusive Employers in August 2024 as an Assistant Financial Accountant. Her role is to be responsible for accounts payable and management/financial accounts related tasks and to help provide financial analysis to the business to help support our goals.

Gemma studied Business at the University of Brighton and has worked in finance since she completed her course around 5 years ago. Since starting as a Trainee Accountant in her first role, she has gained experience in a couple of different sectors (Software Development & Building Energy Management Systems – BEMS) and has been exposed to various areas of finance during that time. She is always keen to learn and is currently finishing off her AAT qualification and afterwards, will train to become a chartered accountant.

What do you enjoy about your role at Inclusive Employers?

I am very new still, but my first impressions are that I have been blown away by the team and how incredibly kind and welcoming everyone has been! So, I am really looking forward to getting to know everyone better and learning lots!

What has been your biggest achievement to date?

One of my favourite achievements is that I have donated my hair twice to the Little Princess Trust to provide wigs to children who have lost their hair whilst undergoing cancer treatment. I also raised over £2,000 for them, which is something I am really proud of as I think the charity is just amazing.

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

Always go with your gut!

Tell us something about you that we might not know.

I love going on long walks with my little dog and exercising/going to the gym! I am also a complete chocoholic… so I balance myself well!
