Inclusion and Diversity Consultant

Cheryl joined Inclusive Employers in April 2024, after nearly two years in TV and ten years in Financial Services.

Previous work experience also includes education and the public sector. As a consultant she works with a wide range of members across different industries.

Cheryl’s own lived experiences led her into Diversity and Inclusion after the birth of her first child, when ten years ago flexible working was a pipe dream.

Her experience has included establishing staff networks and embedding them into their organisations to create inclusive workplaces. Most recently she has led on Disability Inclusion.

Cheryl is also extremely passionate about inclusion and belonging for children and wants children to be free to be themselves whatever environment they are in.

What do you enjoy about your role at Inclusive Employers?

I enjoy working with others and supporting people to create positive change within their own organisations.

What has been your biggest achievement to date

I was able to bring staff network co-chairs from across the UK and across the business together in one space to connect, collaborate and learn so that they were able to have the time away from their day jobs to really focus on the purpose and ambitions of their networks. They were also able to meet and network with senior leaders too.

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

Be yourself – you can’t be anybody else!

Tell us something about you that we might not know

During lockdown I did an online interior design course, and a few years ago I passed my level one British Sign Language. In the winter months I play hockey for a local team in Kent.
