Carol is an inclusion and diversity expert with over 15 years’ experience in HR Specialist roles. Before joining Inclusive Employers, Carol led inclusion and diversity in a large FTSE 100 organisation. Carol specialises in organisational culture and behavioural change and is also an experienced leadership coach.
Highly skilled in consulting and comfortable with ambiguity, Carol leads cultural diagnostic and audit work, and supports employers to develop I&D strategies and plans. She also designs and delivers training to every level from executive to front line staff.
Carol uses her understanding of culture and behaviour change in her approach to design, using gamification techniques and storytelling to create meaningful, high impact interventions. Carol also leads our work in digital and eLearning.
The variety. Working with lots of different clients means working with lots of different challenges and ambitions. I love a new challenge, so the variety of members and clients means there is always a new way to look at something or a new challenge to get involved in.
I’ve won two academic awards in my career, which felt pretty good. But really, I’m much more interested in celebrating little wins. Recently a client told me the positive action session I’d just delivered to her recruitment team was the best bit of training she had attended in years. Regular wins like that mean the world to me.
Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is true inclusion. It takes effort and commitment. Be patient and apply yourself, the rewards will come.
I’m a big kayaking enthusiast, although I’m new to it I try to get out on the water every week.
