Trans Inclusion
Lead by our Trans Inclusion specialist, our training gives you a framework for embedding trans inclusion in your organisation for all staff, visitors, customers and future talent. Transgender, non-binary and gender non-conforming people’s workplace experiences are often negative.
Trans Inclusion: Why You Need it
Led by our Trans Inclusion specialist, our training gives you a framework for embedding trans inclusion in your organisation for all staff, visitors, customers and future talent. Transgender, non-binary and gender non-conforming people’s workplace experiences are often negative. Sadly, it is all too common for trans people to face discrimination, isolation and abuse, both in public and at work, despite specific protections under the Equality Act.
Many organisations don’t have the basics in place: access to non-gendered toilets and changing rooms; inclusive data options; gender categories and pronouns; a transitioning at work policy or training. Our Trans Inclusion training will equip your organisation to understand the importance of all of these and empower you with practical tools to make them happen.
Trans Inclusion: What You Will Learn
The first step in our training is to equip you with a foundation of knowledge about Trans Inclusion. Together, we will look at:
- Terminology and language;
- The legislation that applies to trans people at work;
- The reality of most transgender and non-binary employees’ experiences at work or as customers and visitors to your business.
With this knowledge in place, the next step is a mini audit of your workplace to identify any barriers within your systems, physical environment and employee or customer experience.
You will complete the training feeling more confident about how to support trans people in your workplace, how to use language inclusively and with an outline action plan of your next steps.
Trans Inclusion: Who Will Benefit
Inclusive Employers have designed this training for everyone who wants to know more about Trans Inclusion and wants to take action to improve it in their workplace. You could be in:
- HR;
