The Engage Webinars – What is Inclusion

These webinars are for your colleagues who may be at the start of their understanding on inclusion and haven’t been exposed to the opportunity of inclusion, yet. We will look at the foundations of inclusion and encourage colleagues to consider how they can think differently, value difference and play their role in building a more inclusive culture. The content of the four webinars is listed below.

What is Inclusion 1: An introduction to Equality, diversity and inclusion

Using case studies and examples we will explain the business case for inclusion and share best practice on how everyone can play their role in making inclusion an everyday reality in your business. We will also cover:

  • The Equality Act 2010;
  • Clarity on the differences between equality, diversity and inclusion.

What is Inclusion 2: Unconscious Bias

Bias inhibits decision making and results in unfairness and potential discrimination. Through case studies, evidence and reflection we will help delegates to understand their own unconscious biases and the impact that these may have at work. We also cover:

  • Institutionalised or systemic bias;
  • How to make changes that increase opportunities for all;
  • The relationship between unconscious bias and discrimination;
  • Top tips on how to mitigate its impact on the culture of your team.

What is Inclusion 3: Banter – Balancing Wit and Wisdom

We will guide participants along the fine line between fun, stress reducing, morale raising workplace communication and a harmful, debilitating and persistent verbal barrage. This webinar recognises the benefits of fun at work and focuses on the risks and responsibilities for all concerned.
You will be provided with practical advice and guidance for tackling banter in the workplace, including techniques for having challenging conversations about workplace banter and minimise risk of employment claims.

What is Inclusion 4: Inclusive Meetings

This webinar will support you to make your meetings more productive, enabling your colleagues to contribute their best ideas. We will look at meetings through an inclusion lens, you will be supporting everyone in your team to participate in a meaningful way, whether you are meeting face-to-face or remotely. We will also cover:

  • Top tips for running an inclusive meeting;
  • How to engage inclusively with your attendees;
  • Understanding how reasonable adjustments can be implemented into a meeting to maximise attendance or contributions.

The Equip Webinars: Understanding Difference

This programme of webinars is for your colleagues who are confident in their understanding of making inclusion an everyday reality and are ready to know more. The focus of this programme is to enable delegates to understand the issues and opportunities of understanding those they work with: colleagues, team members, customers. The content of the four webinars is listed below.

Understanding Difference 1: The Multigenerational Workforce

We will explore the evidence of generational differences including working styles, communication, management and leadership, motivation and morale and how this effects working dynamics and relationships. Practical tools and techniques will be shared to understand and appreciate what everyone can bring to the workplace.

Understanding Difference 2: Trans Inclusion

This webinar gives you a foundation of knowledge for embedding Trans Inclusion in your organisation. Transgender, non-binary and gender non-conforming people’s workplace experiences are often negative. We will identify policies and practice which will help neuro-diverse people to flourish in the workplace and create a culture which values thinking differently.
