Supporting hidden carers at work and home

This year during Carers Week we are helping to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities. It’s also an opportunity to shine a light on what caring is to help people who don’t think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as careers and access the resources available to them.

Carers support friends and family with a disability, mental or physical illness, addiction, or who need extra support as they grow older. The challenges for these individuals are often overlooked in the workplace, but we know that caring can have a huge impact on a person’s working and personal life.

Carers develop a whole range of skills that are an asset to any organisation, and we should focus on how we can support, retain and uplift carers in the workplace.

    Global Inclusion Strategies

This session will explore the inclusion challenges and opportunities faced by global organisations. Employees can be separated by thousands of miles and spread across several time zones, which in itself is tricky, but to grow inclusion across cultural and legal differences presents particular challenges.

The risks of getting it wrong can be enough to make employers give up on a global Inclusion and Diversity agenda but the benefits are substantial if you are able to flex your approach.  What works in your home country isn’t necessarily going to work globally, and we will be exploring what you can do to navigate a global environment with respect and sensitivity.

Becoming pregnant, a parent or a carer is arguably the biggest life changing event anyone can go through. By supporting rainbow families, your organisation is making a clear statement that your LGBTQ+ colleagues are welcome, valued and included. Pregnant people, parents and carers within rainbow families experience unique challenges and this webinar will give you the knowledge, skills and actions to support them within the workplace.

Inequality in the LGBTQ+ Community and Proactive Allyship

When we have insights, we can take meaningful action. This session aims to explore the existing evidence and opportunities to tackle current inequalities. The 2021 census data released in 2023 was the first UK census that has asked people about their sexual orientation and gender identity. By developing ourselves and colleagues as proactive allies, armed with insights and tactics to celebrate diversity and increase inclusion we can make our workplaces and services safer, fairer places for LGBTQ+ people to be.

Intergenerational Working: Supporting and Retaining Gen-Z and Beyond

The age makeup of the current workplace will change dramatically over the next few years. Gen-Z’s born (1997 and 2012) will make up 30% of the global population by 2030. Millennials born (1981-1996) will make up 70% of all workforces by 2030.

There are currently five generations within the workplace, all of whom have different experiences and expectations about their employment. This webinar will explore how to prepare for the future, to make sure organisations are attracting and attaining talent in a very competitive market.
