LGBT+ rights and the pioneers who helped to change the world

February 10 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Person holding LGBT Pride flag

Wednesday 10th February, 12:00 – 13:00

Over the last year it’s been very clear for all that the fight for LGBT+ rights is not over. If we don’t keep up the fight, there’s a real danger that some of these rights could be eroded or in some cases, totally removed.
But how did we get here? Who do we have to thank for all the incredible progress so far? This session will be a retrospective on those individuals who really did have to fight for the rights we have today.
We will look at a number of different individuals, some well known, some almost forgotten, who will inspire you to learn more and perhaps even engage more actively in the protecting our rights.

In this session we will explore:

  • What are LGBT+ Rights?
  • The History of LGBT+ Rights
  • Who did what? And how!?
  • What can we do?

Who Should Attend

  • LGBT+ Network members
  • Staff Network Leads
  • Heads of D&I
