Jilly Svikis - Inclusive Employers

Jilly started her career in marketing over 20 years ago and prior to joining Inclusive Employers was a Director at one of the world’s biggest communications agencies. Jilly first became interested in inclusion and diversity when she noticed that the marketing industry wasn’t representing the broad audiences they were communicating with. This led to her leading initiatives such as National Inclusion Week, launching dyslexia packs and partnering with organisations such as Inspiring the Future, IPA Unlocked and the Social Mobility Foundation to open the doors to a broader talent pool.

What do you enjoy about your role at Inclusive Employers?

Learning every day! The whole team is incredibly passionate about what they do and that comes across in every conversation. I’ve always had an interest in inclusion and diversity; I love working in this area and thinking about the impact we are having on people’s day to day lives.

What has been your biggest achievement to date?

With regards to inclusion, in my previous role I was an Inclusion Champion and led projects on social mobility and neurodiversity. I was also invited to speak on panels as a Female Leader in Marketing.

Since joining Inclusive Employers I’ve been most proud to launch our podcasts, ‘Talking inclusion with…’ Each episode is a great reminder of why we do what we do.

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail. Having always worked in fast-paced environments I need to remind myself of this sometimes!

Tell us something about you that we might not know

I once recorded a song at Abbey Road Studios. I played the keys (very badly).
