There are lots of last minute ways you can get involved and engage your team to celebrate and highlight inclusion and diversity in your workplace.

Make use of the free National Inclusion Week toolkit® and free webinar events

As part of National Inclusion Week®, Inclusive Employers have provided free I&D resources which can support with your activities and workplace inclusion!

The free, starter NIW toolkit contains our ‘business case for inclusion’ and ‘embedding inclusion and implementing change’ guides along with an activity based printable resource, a 20-question inclusion champion self-assessment that can be used solo and in teams. Also, you can access graphics and logos to use on socials and communications – along with printable posters and bunting to decorate your workplace!

We also have a series of free webinar events for the week – perfect for I&D managers and leaders to increase knowledge and understanding which can be fed back to your organisation. These include discussing the theme ‘Impact Matters’ in detail, diversity data, business accountability under a new government and intersectionality in the workplace.

Get active in your internal and external comms

The first step to getting your teams engaged and involved is to inform them about NIW and what you want to achieve in the week. Send out some communications via your internal comms, explaining the theme and activities you’d like to do. Ask people to get involved and share some stories or experiences of great examples of inclusion in your workplace and where things could improve. Share some of your insights and activities during the week on socials and engage with other organisations taking part using the hashtags #NationalInclusionWeek2024 and #ImpactMatters.

Use National Inclusion Week® and the #ImpactMatters theme as an I&D conversation starter

If you are early on in your I&D journey, starting conversations about I&D might be challenging, people may be unsure or feel vulnerable. How about using NIW as a stepping stone to opening up the conversation? Why not share your thoughts on the theme #ImpactMatters and ask others to share what it means to them? This can be a great way to break the ice.

Book in some in-house sessions

Inclusive Employers offer in-house webinars for you to have delivered to your whole organisation. This means you can introduce topics and train your whole organisation on different issues such as being an inclusive colleague, intersectionality, psychological safety and more during NIW.
