Advance Inclusion in Your Workplace Today

We are delighted to announce that Janet Tidmarsh has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Inclusive Employers. Having joined us just two months ago as Chief Operating Officer, Janet has already showcased her exceptional leadership, passion, and expertise in equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). Her commitment to driving meaningful change makes her the perfect leader to guide Inclusive Employers into its next phase of growth and innovation.

Janet Tidmarsh: A female leader with proven impact

Janet brings more than 20 years of experience leading inclusion and talent strategies in some of the UK’s most recognisable organisations, including Whitbread PLC, Sainsbury’s PLC, and Virgin Active Ltd. Her career has been defined by her ability to embed inclusion into organisational cultures, helping workplaces thrive by prioritising equity and diversity.

A Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, Janet’s work has been widely celebrated. In 2024, her leadership helped Whitbread PLC secure a top 10 ranking in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index. Her dedication to creating inclusive environments has earned her recognition as both a practitioner and a speaker, sharing insights at DE&I conferences across the UK.

One of Janet’s most impactful initiatives is the Thrive programme, which she regards as a personal highlight of her career. The programme supports young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in finding employment, addressing the fact that only 4.8% of people with learning disabilities are in paid work. Janet’s ability to translate organisational goals into life-changing outcomes is a testament to her leadership.

A vision for the future of Inclusive Employers

As Managing Director, Janet is eager to build on the organisation’s success and deepen its impact. She is passionate about empowering Inclusive Employers’ members to achieve their EDI goals by providing expert guidance, tailored support, and actionable solutions.

“Joining Inclusive Employers has been an incredible experience,” Janet shared. “This organisation is home to some of the most knowledgeable professionals in workplace inclusion, and I am excited to lead this talented team as we support our members to overcome challenges and create truly inclusive cultures.”

Janet will lead a team of 50 workplace inclusion experts to deliver practical, measurable change for organisations spanning the public, private, and third sectors. With a membership base of nearly 500 organisations and a reach of over one million employees, Inclusive Employers continues to lead the way in advancing workplace inclusion.
