Inclusion and Diversity Consultant (£28K - £32K) or Senior Inclusion and Diversity Consultant (£35K - £40K)

Established in May 2011, Inclusive Employers is the UK's first and leading membership organisation for employers looking to build inclusive workplaces. We offer consultancy, training and thought leadership, to help our members and clients make inclusion an everyday reality in their workplace.

Working with a variety of organisations in the public, private and third sectors, we provide bespoke initiatives to help build inclusive cultures.

We are a growing and innovative consultancy, and to help us achieve our ambitious business goals we are recruiting an Inclusion and Diversity Consultant or Senior Consultant to join our small collaborative team.

Although this is a full time post and is based in central London (Waterloo), we will consider part time/job share applications.

Job purpose

To help grow Inclusive Employers through the provision of high quality member support, training and consultancy.

Key activities include:

Expertise:

Provide comprehensive, specialist and practical Inclusion and Diversity expertise, advice and solutions, strategic, tactical and operational, to employers across different sectors. Demonstrate a sound knowledge of employment processes such as recruitment, performance management and Employment Tribunals, and a thorough understanding of the Equality Act and relevant case law.

Relationship Building:

Develop and nurture close relationships with members and clients from all sectors, based on a clear understanding of their business or service issues. Work effectively as a member of a small team.

Learning, Development and Training:

A key part of the role, to write and deliver a wide range of training, learning and development interventions with an engaging, informative and convincing style to a wide range of audiences.

Innovation and leading edge:

Develop and drive the adoption of best practice to build and sustain employee inclusion. Contribute to and develop new campaign activity, for example in relation to National Inclusion Week.

Business Development:

Identify new membership and business opportunities and services to enhance our offering to clients and widen our membership.

Analytical Skills:

Participate in high profile, national research and development activity, including thought leadership programmes. Undertake audit and review programmes.

The ideal candidate will have evidence to show their ability and success in most of the following areas:

  • Strong relationship management skills (able to develop and maintain relationships with a range of clients/sectors)
  • Experience of influencing senior stakeholders
  • Delivering inclusion and diversity solutions or strategies within complex organisations
  • HR expertise and knowledge of employment issues
  • Knowledge and application of employment law and best employment practice
  • Comfortable and successful in a targets based environment
  • Ability to act as an ambassador for Inclusive Employers
  • Highly developed presentation and communication skills including clear and concise written reports
  • Professional and credible verbal and written communication style
  • Analysis, interpretation and presentation of complex issues and data clearly and persuasively
  • Engaging and challenging managers and colleagues constructively
  • Management of projects
  • Collaboration with partners on joint work
  • Experience of culture / change programmes
  • Experience of submitting (and winning) bids and tenders

Other considerations:

You must be able to deliver training or consultancy UK wide where necessary.
