Flexible Working

Developing an inclusive culture, which includes flexible working involves not just providing options, but creating an environment in which employees across your organisation are able to discuss it with their line managers and develop schedules that are mutually beneficial. Inclusive Employers outlines:

  • organisational benefits of flexible working;
  • different types of flexible working patterns;
  • how to support an inclusive flexible working culture;
  • useful links and a downloadable inclusive flexible working policy template.

Here's a taste of what you'll read as a member on our website...

Flexible Working | Developing a flexible culture, and opening up flexible working opportunities to all staff is a cornerstone of an inclusive workplace. When a workplace is flexible, people at all levels in the organisation work in ways which suit them, their responsibilities and life stage.  This flexibility means that talented people are not faced with the stark choice between success at work and success at home; they can achieve their potential and balance that with their home life.  Employers have the option to be very flexible and to open up flexible working to all staff, regardless of the reason for the flexible working request. | Communication is key to making flexibility work. Employees must have a very clear picture of how they fit into the team as a whole and managers need to create a culture which thinks flexibly, not just offer part-time work and think that’s flexibility. | The Government is currently consulting on extending the right to request flexible working to all employees.  If these changes come into force, employers who already have a flexible approach will be at a huge advantage. | Flexible working results in a range of benefits which can have a real impact on the bottom-line including: - Boosting morale by giving people more choice and control over their hours - Keeping a successful team intact - Having staff that you know and can trust to delegate to - Saving time and money recruiting and developing a replacement...
